Treating ADHD in Adults: Practical Tools for Addressing Executive Functioning Challenges (2/21/25)
Treating ADHD in Adults: Practical Tools for Addressing Executive Functioning Challenges (2/21/25)
In recent years, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) has become widely recognized as a condition that affects not only children but also adults, frequently interfering with daily responsibilities, long-term goals, and overall quality of life. With an increasing number of adults seeking therapy for ADHD-related difficulties, therapists are finding themselves on the front lines of providing support for issues such as procrastination, disorganization, and time management. However, most graduate programs offer little to no training on working with ADHD in adults, leaving many clinicians searching for effective, evidence-based strategies. This training bridges that gap, offering practical, cognitive-behavioral tools tailored for adults with ADHD and executive dysfunction. Participants will gain actionable techniques for fostering skills in organization, time management, and planning and explore strategies for addressing task-interfering thoughts and emotional barriers to action. These tools empower therapists to support ADHD clients in overcoming challenges and working toward valued goals with less self-judgment and more success.
