About Me
I became a therapist to help others see the good they have trouble seeing within themselves. Everyone is doing the best they can with what they have and I hope to give them some more tools to do even better. I love to use humor in my sessions and have yet to meet a client that I could not make laugh while we progress through our work.
I use genuine curiosity and openness in exploring your life and what has led you to meet with me. You lived a lot of life before setting foot in my office, and I strive to learn about and accept you just as you are. From there, we work together to make you the best version of yourself, whomever that may be. I will challenge the parts of you that are holding you back and help the rest of you heal and grow. What we do in session and what our goals are will always be an open collaboration.
More About My Practice
I have spent the past decade studying psychotherapy and learning a diverse array of therapies. In my practice, I integrate therapies, chiefly merging Process-Experiential Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Together, these methods are designed to help you understand your emotions as they are while moving you toward the person you wish to be. I operate from an Alliance-Focused stance, bringing my authentic self to session rather than attempting to present as a blank slate. I am attentive to any challenges to our collaboration and trained extensively in getting us back on track.
My Specialties
I work well with those who have found themselves consistently misunderstood by others in their lives, perhaps even by previous therapists. My background has led to me having many unique perspectives and being comfortable holding many possibilities at once without imposing one on you. This perspective seems especially beneficial to individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds, those with marginalized sexual or gender identities, those diagnosed with personality disorders, those identifying as neurodivergent, and those otherwise deemed “treatment resistant.” Additional areas of specialization include depression, difficulties with emotion regulation, life transitions, men’s issues, and domestic abuse.
