About Me

Building a strong relationship is the cornerstone of effective therapy. I prioritize establishing a trusting working alliance with my clients, where they feel safe, respected, and understood. In this collaborative environment, we work together as a team to address and overcome challenges, fostering growth and resilience. My goal is to create a space where clients feel comfortable being themselves, enabling us to explore their concerns deeply and meaningfully.

More About My Practice

As a 3rd-year doctoral student and aspiring therapist, I am committed to continuous learning and professional development to ensure that I provide the most effective therapy possible. My academic journey is grounded in both theoretical knowledge and practical experience. I began my career in psychology by working in community mental health as a case manager, where I supported individuals from diverse backgrounds in navigating complex life circumstances. This role allowed me to develop a deep understanding of the systemic and personal factors that influence mental health.

My prior training experiences have given me a solid foundation in diagnosing and formulating treatment plans, as well as building rapport with clients from the very first session. I am fortunate to be under the supervision of senior staff psychologists at Psychology Specialists of Maine, where I am refining my clinical skills and learning from experienced professionals who are dedicated to excellence in mental health care.

Therapeutic Approach

In my practice, I integrate humanistic and cognitive-behavioral principles, while remaining open to incorporating other evidence-based therapy methods as I continue to expand my knowledge. I believe that therapy should be tailored to the individual, with each person’s unique needs and experiences guiding the therapeutic process. My approach is client-centered, meaning I place a strong emphasis on empathy, active listening, and creating a nonjudgmental space where clients feel empowered to express themselves.

By drawing on cognitive-behavioral techniques, I work collaboratively with clients to identify and modify patterns of thinking and behavior that may be contributing to their difficulties. Whether we are addressing anxiety, depression, or challenges related to life transitions, my focus is on helping clients gain insight into their struggles and develop practical strategies for coping and thriving. My aim is to support clients in their journey towards meaningful change and improved well-being.

My Specialties

I specialize in helping individuals who are navigating life transitions, relationship challenges, depression, anxiety, grief, and anger issues. I am passionate about supporting clients as they work through these issues, helping them to build resilience, find new perspectives, and create a life that aligns with their values and goals.
